Eyebrows should be sisters and not twins

I’m feeling a little bereft without my Random Acts of Joy to plan each day, but I am putting this free time to good use. And not just for baking chocolate orange cake and doing bad karaoke renditions of the Arctic Monkeys either. No, I’ve been working on exciting plans for the Joyful Revolution. We’re talking launch parties (of course you’ll be invited), interviews and many more Random Acts of Joy. Hurrah!

But I need your help. This revolution is democratic, so tell me what I can do to make YOU joyful. What would inspire you to ‘do good feel good’? What can I do to help you say goodbye to so-so?  Let me know in the comments below.

And in the meantime, here’s the first joyful video. Working title: ‘Symmetrical eyebrows are overrated’. Seriously. I’m going to start tilting my head to one side just to even them out!

Have a wonderful weekend.

I would absolutely love more random acts of joy, as they always brighten my day and inspire me to bring joy to others, as well! However, I have read every post on this website and absolutely love it, so really anything you post I’m sure I’d love!

    Cheryl,

When I found your blog I found myself smiling to the depths of my soul. I have had a very difficult few years and needed some joy and hope. I’ve always been on the giving end, but I need a time of healing and rest for a bit. I long to be on that side again, and look forward to getting back on my feet so that I can bring smiles and joy to others. You have inspired me. In the meantime, know that I read your words and take them to heart. They are like pixie dust, magic…..Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    Hugs

      Hi Heather,
Thanks so much for this beautiful comment. I really appreciate it. I’m so sorry to hear that you have had some difficult years and I look forward to you getting back on your feet too. In the meantime, enjoy the receiving! It can be tricky when your natural mode is to be the thoughtful one, but everyone needs to enjoy being treated too. I am finally learning that when we let other people do Acts of Joy for us then we’re giving them the pleasure of doing something sweet for us as well. Win-win!

      Thanks again,

      Cheryl

    Hello Cheryl

I enjoy reading the blog especially after a hectic day at work when it’s all too easy to forget there’s a world of joy out there. What would be good would be to hear about others ‘Moments of Joy’. Those simple, everyday encounters, actions and surprises that make our day. Hearing about the joy of others can help to increase our own. Thank you for adding some joy to my day!

      Hi Julie,

Thanks for your lovely words. You’re so right that sharing/hearing about the little things that have made our days is a great way to be uplifted. We definitely need to celebrate those small joyful wins. I’d love for people to write in when they happen so I can share them. Our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/makemejoyful) would also be a great place to put these so please do post as and when they occur. I’ll make sure I do too.

      Thanks again!

Hey Cheryl … wouldn’t it be joyful to have your community of followers send in videos of them describing random joyful moments they’ve had?? Witnessing this spread would be oh-so inspiring, no?

    • Make Me Joyful

It most certainly would be inspiring. That’s a great idea and I’m keen to get more feedback from people on what makes them joyful. Care to be the first? Perhaps over pancakes?!

    Hi Cheryl!

Like a not-english-native it´s really hard to me understand the speeches on the videos… Could i ask you to write english subtitles for them? (pleaseeeeee!)

    Muack!

Oh and, yes, this is something I’ll look into for the next videos. Thanks!

  6. Hi Cheryl, you are so inspiring – I love all the things you’re doing for others. I wish I could find the time to do some small things to bring joy to others too. Maybe you can share some ideas for the rest of us to take onboard? Like maybe one thing a week? I’d love for you to plant an idea and I will work to find a way to squeeze it in throughout the week. That way more joy gets spread! Keep it up.

Thanks so much Shannon. That’s a great idea and I’d love to maximise the spread of joy. I’m going to work on that idea so thank you!
